This book detailed his life as a young man from when he first realized his love for rocketry and throughout his journey in creating rockets. “October Sky ” was adapted from the book “Rocket Boys,” which was written by Homer Hickam. The movie takes place in Coalwood, West Virginia in 1957. Some of the other stars in October Sky are Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays the father, Homer Hickam, and Laura Dern who plays the teacher of the Rocket Boys. It stars Chris Cooper and Chris Owen, who play two of the four Rocket Boys. Released in America in 1999, “October Sky” is a biographical drama movie that tells a tale of determination and friendship.
